🇬🇧 Cambridge Live! I Really Regret Not Going Sooner 😭

My mom only had 7 days in the UK, so we had to choose between Cambridge and Oxford – and I’m so glad we picked Cambridge! It did not disappoint 😭 🚂 We did a day trip from London with an open return train ticket – valid for any off-peak return time that day. Pro tip: Use a Railcard for extra discount! We departed from King’s Cross and accidentally found Platform 9¾ – a happy surprise for Harry Potter fans! 🧙♂️✨ 🍜 First stop: a famous Shaanxi restaurant in Cambridge. We had the classic “Sanqin Combo” and beef noodles – tastes like home 🍜💖 The place is small and often busy at lunch – try to go off-peak! 🚣 Punting is a MUST in Cambridge! We couldn’t find the recommended punting company after wandering around, so we booked with a street vendor. 💡 Important: They initially quoted £50 for two people – way above average! My mom – a pro bargainer who doesn’t speak English – managed to negotiate it down to £35 for two! 💷✌️ Don’t be shy to bargain especially in tourist spots! Finally got on the boat… and I’m telling you, YOU HAVE TO GO PUNTING IN CAMBRIDGE. It’s breathtaking – no words, just see the live footage (but real life is even prettier!).
