🇬🇧 Didn’t Expect Cambridge to Be This Fun
I had such a great time exploring and eating in Cambridge! This post focuses on shopping and food 🛍️🍜. The city center is compact and perfect for wandering – from the Corpus Clock to the punting departure points, you’ll find souvenir shops, boutique fashion stores, vintage shops, and cozy restaurants. Here’s a route-based guide: 1️⃣ Lion Yard Shopping Centre A mall with JD, Levi’s, Dr. Martens, New Look, Clarks, and more. The Christmas atmosphere was magical! 🎄 2️⃣ Jack’s Gelato 🍦 Near the Corpus Clock – highly recommend the taro coconut flavour. So good! 3️⃣ Gift Shop: Podarok Full of handmade felt animals and beautiful little books. The window display is adorable! 🐑📚 4️⃣ Vintage Jewelry: Nomads Right opposite King’s College – gorgeous retro jewelry at reasonable prices. Bought a pair of amethyst earrings for £14 💜✨ – they sparkle beautifully in the light. 5️⃣ Ramen: Ittou Noodle Bar 🍜 Perfect for a cold day! Went in right at opening (12 PM), and when we left, the queue was down the street! Highly recommend the beef ramen – generous portions. WeChat payment discount available. Service was just okay though. Along the street from King’s to Trinity College, there are many souvenir shops selling Cambridge hats and hoodies in lovely colours (but some don’t allow photography 📵). 6️⃣ Vintage Dress Shop: Pocket & Petticoats 😍😍 I was drawn in by the window display – and 70k people saw me try on dresses on social media! Ended up buying a size 6 dress + belt for £87. The owner was wearing a Cinderella-style gown – so dreamy! Definitely going back 👗💫. After shopping, it’s time for punting! 🛶 7️⃣ Burger Joint: Byron Burger 🍔 A popular chain with a nice vibe. The sauce is unique – pricier than Five Guys but with fewer toppings. Packed with locals hanging out. 8️⃣ A Vintage Shop (Name Forgotten) Most souvenir shops close by 5-6 PM, but this vintage store was still buzzing! Lots of cool sunglasses and stylish clothes. Tried on blue sunglasses – so flattering! Sadly didn’t catch the name since I didn’t buy anything 😅. Overall, Cambridge feels small but complete – full of unique stories and charm. Everything closes early though – one day wasn’t enough! #CambridgeDresses #Cambridge #CambridgeDayTrip #CambridgeFood #VintageFashion
