π¬π§ London's Sichuan Cuisine That's a Little Rice-Worthy π€
When it comes to gathering with friends, we unanimously voted for Shuiyue Bashan, located in Soho's Chinatown. Upon arriving at the restaurant, we discovered that it's actually a Michelin-listed Sichuan restaurantβno wonder it's something special. My friends, who are authentic Sichuanese, praised this place, saying it's the best Sichuan cuisine in London. The interior is distinctively decorated with a strong Chinese vibe. π Tyrant's Elbow: Available in fish-fragrant, spicy, and braised flavors. I chose the braised version with a secret sauce that's fresh, spicy, and enticing, perfectly matched with the elbow. Paired with rice, the sauce from the elbow drips down, and every grain of rice absorbs the essence of the meat juice. The downside is: it's a little rice-worthy. π Signature Grilled Fish: Haven't you tried this grilled fish yet? Available in garlic, fermented bean, and signature flavors. Go for the signature, which most people can enjoy! It comes with a plethora of side dishes, including cauliflower, lotus root, and wood ear mushrooms. The outer layer is grilled to a fragrant crisp, and the skin absorbs the soup, making it incredibly spicy and delicious. π Sour Soup with Beef: Tangy and spicy, it's appetite-opening and refreshing! The beef is soaked in soup and paired with enoki mushrooms, making it another rice dish with great rice appeal. π Currently, the restaurant is holding a Mid-Autumn Festival spin-to-win promotion, and I got a 20% discount on the entire bill π₯. The owner said it's the first day, and the event will last until the 17th, with opportunities to win free meals.
