🇬🇧 London Tower - An Ancient Palace Standing Among Modern Skyscraper
The Tower of London, officially known as Her Majesty’s Palace and Fortress, The Tower of London, is a palace and fortress belonging to the Queen. I've always wanted to visit this famous London attraction that's so close to home, and after the lockdown, I finally got my chance. 🎈 As soon as I entered the main gate of the Tower of London, I felt like I had instantly traveled from the modern city of London's financial district to a small European town. The Tower of London has perfectly preserved in a small area at the heart of modern London evidence of the city's experience during the Roman period. This castle, which was originally built in 1066, has served as a royal palace, an armory, and even a prison. Today, it houses the crowns of the kings and queens since the 15th century and displays the armor and weapons from that time as part of the Royal Armories. 🎈 The Tower of London consists of several different buildings. The main tower is called the White Tower, which is one of the oldest and most conspicuous buildings. It was a military fortress built by William the Conqueror, and it houses a large collection of weapons, armor, and torture devices. Seeing the solid gold engraved pistols and submachine guns made me very excited... 🎈 The Crown Jewels (historically known as the Waterloo Block) are probably the main reason why most people visit the Tower of London. It displays the crowns and a dazzling array of jewelry worn by the Queen on various occasions. It's very pleasing to the eye, but unfortunately, photography is not allowed inside. As a huge fan of "The Crown," I was very saddened by this. ⭐️ There are many interesting things about the Tower of London, but due to space limitations, I cannot introduce them all. It is one of the attractions in London that I think is most worth visiting. The complete tour takes about 3 hours. You can book a time slot in advance on the Historic Royal Palaces website (hrp.org.uk), or you can take the District Line to Tower Hill station and buy a ticket on the spot. The ticket prices online and on-site are the same, with adult tickets at £29.90 and student tickets at £24. There might be a limit on the number of people who can buy tickets on-site due to the high number of visitors on weekends, so please pay attention to the information in advance and plan your visit accordingly. #LondonTravel
