Every time I passed Market Square, I saw crowds enjoying coffee outside – I thought it was just a café or bar. But it turns out it’s a hidden gem serving Asian + British seasonal dishes! 🍽️ The vibe is chic yet affordable, with amazing views and a prime location. It’s now on my regular list for gatherings and dates! 😋 The menu is divided into Asian and British. Just tell the server which one you prefer when you enter! Asian: Chinese, Japanese, Korean (their braised pork is incredible!) British: Classic British dishes (made with daily fresh ingredients, including a "catch of the day" blind box!) We chose British and were seated upstairs – the interior design with the "Cowherd and Weaver Girl" love story theme is so creative and romantic! 💕 British Menu Recommendations: 🥗 Starters: Torched Mackerel & Chicken Liver Parfait The mackerel was absolutely divine – juicy and flavourful! My friend’s chicken liver pâté was also delicious. 🦌 Main Course: Venison Red Wine Sausage We don’t often get to try venison, so we gave it a go – and it did not disappoint! Much fresher and more layered in flavour than regular pork sausages. 🍧 Desserts: Chef’s Dessert of the Day (today: apple pie + poached pear) & Baileys Affogato Both were beautifully presented and tasted amazing – so classy! 🍹 Cocktails: Pomegranate & Elderberry Burst Even just sipping a drink by the window with a view is worth it! Market Square looks lovely from above – bustling crowds, couples cruising in vintage cars… pure bliss 😌 🐟 Catch of the Day Blind Box: Today was salmon, but we were too tempted by the venison! Next time we’ll try the surprise. 🍄 Heard their new mushroom dish is incredibly photogenic – perfect for date photos! 💰 Only £35 per person for three courses – great value! The Market House building is over 200 years old, and the restaurant beautifully preserves its history with a memory wall. Even the walls are heritage-protected! 📜 The Asian section downstairs also displays the history of Market Square’s fountain ⛲️ – a truly cultural dining experience!
