🇬🇧 Who Wouldn’t Love a Solo Trip? — Colchester Edition

After my exams, I hopped on a train to this quaint town and stayed overnight. Woke up to my lovely landlady playing guitar 🎸🥰—she’s been saying "Nice to meet you" and "You’re nice!" nonstop since I arrived. LOL. Here’s my mini guide: 1️⃣ B&B on Castle Road Booked a cozy Airbnb after my 4 PM exam—perfect location (5-min walk to Hollytrees Museum!). The host was sweet, and the house was charming. 2️⃣ Hollytrees Museum 📍 Inside Castle Park 📜 Small but fascinating exhibits on local history (clothing, household items, etc.). Free entry! 3️⃣ Colchester Castle 🏰 Skip it! Paid £8 for underwhelming displays. The exterior is photogenic enough. 4️⃣ Natural History Museum 🦉 FREE and way better! Animal specimens, fossils, and cool dioramas. Right across from Castle Park’s main gate. 5️⃣ Culver Square Shopping Centre 🛍️ Every British high street feels like a clone, but this one had a Jellycat store (score!). 6️⃣ St Botolph’s Priory ⛪ CO2 7EE | The infamous "no-toilet-paper" ruins. Overhyped—took me forever to find, and meh. 7️⃣ Castle Park (Again!) 🌿 Fed friendly squirrels and dodged a overly affectionate goose that almost followed me home. 🚂 Now en route to York to fix my botched Christmas trip! #SoloTravelUK #ColchesterDiaries #HiddenGems
