๐ฎ๐น Sicily Travel Diary โ Catania Chapter Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing my second stop in Sicily โ Catania ๐๏ธ. As Sicily's second-largest city, it blends modern elements with local life vibes much better than Palermo. Must-Visit Spots โ 1๏ธโฃ Kathedrale SantโAgata (Catania Cathedral) Free entry ๐ซ, stunning exterior. The nearby square is perfect for a relaxing stroll โ a must-visit! 2๏ธโฃ Piazza Universitร (University Square) Visited in early December with a Christmas market ๐. Thereโs also a free small museum inside! 3๏ธโฃ View of Etna (Volcano Lookout) Climb the steps for a distant view of Mt. Etna ๐. For a closer look, join a hiking tour (though honestly, itโs just black rocks up close ๐). 4๏ธโฃ Fish Market ๐ Open until ~2 PM โ go early! Bigger than Palermoโs market. Bought 1kg of shrimp for โฌ8 ๐ฆ and lamb intestine rolls (โฌ1 each) โ fried and dipped in soy sauce + chili flakes, so good! (Had them cooked at a Chinese restaurant.) Skip the salted roasted chestnuts โ meh. Food Recs ๐ฝ๏ธ 1๏ธโฃ Handmade Pasta ๐ Tried eggplant & sausage pasta (like "fish-flavored eggplant" in Chinese cuisine). Heads-up: Italians serve pasta al dente (slightly undercooked). ๐ Spaghetti & Co. (Via Crociferi, 77) 2๏ธโฃ Italian Pastries & Coffee โ๐ฅ Bow-shaped croissants & cappuccino โ locals love this spot! ๐ Godโs Pastry Shop (Via Don Luigi Sturzo, 69/71) 3๏ธโฃ Chinese Food Fix ๐ฅข Great Wall China Restaurant helped cook our seafood. Great wok hei . ๐ Via Pacini, 83 AVOID This Place ๐ซ Panda ํ๋ค๐ผ (Korean Restaurant) Overpriced (โฌ70+ for two bibimbap bowls?? Even pricier than Germany!). Way too much sauce โ couldnโt taste anything else. #EuropeTravel #Sicily #Italy #Catania ๐โจ
