🇱🇾 Tripoli | Casual Snapshots—— 🏰 Red Fort
The Red Fort is undoubtedly the most renowned landmark in Tripoli, and even throughout Libya. 🏰🏰It stands adjacent to Martyrs' Square. When I visited Libya, Martyrs' Square was undergoing a large-scale renovation, and the museum inside the Red Fort was also closed to the public. So, I could only take photos from the outside. 📸🏟️ The fort is not only magnificent in appearance but also boasts numerous eye-catching details: 🔧🔧The relief sculpture of Saint George Slaying the Dragon on the fort's outer wall: This artwork was created during the renovation of the fort under Italian colonial rule, which was carried out by the renowned Italian architect Armando Brasini. 🕊️🕊️The coat of arms on the fort's main gate: It features a unique combination of a European-style coat of arms and the crescent moon and star, symbols of Islam. The decorative structures on the city gates and walls: Tripoli's old town is home to a large number of pigeons, and these spots have become ideal gathering places for flocks of them. 🕊️ 🏛️The two columns in Martyrs' Square: I particularly admire this design. The sculptures of knights and sailing ships on them vividly represent how Libya's history and culture have been shaped by both desert and maritime civilizations. ⛵ Unfortunately, due to the construction site in between, I couldn't get close enough to take a photo. 🏛️⛵ #Russia #The Fighting Nation is Truly Unique #Travel Around the World
