🇲🇽 Must-Do Near Mexico City: Hot Air Balloon ☀️

One of the top experiences near Mexico City is visiting the Sun and Moon Pyramids in Teotihuacan—and pairing it with a hot air balloon ride makes it absolutely unforgettable!☀️ Here’s a handy guide to make the most of your trip:😶 1️⃣ Getting There Without Balloon Ride You can take a taxi or Uber/Didi directly from Mexico City (approx. 1 hour). Didí is slightly cheaper than Uber—around 500 pesos one way. 2️⃣ Booking the Hot Air Balloon🤯 You can book online through Expedia, Viator, or Airbnb Experiences. We booked via Airbnb, but felt a bit rushed. Viator offers longer tour times. Packages include pickup, breakfast, and a pyramid tour guide. Price range: 3500-4000 pesos per person. Total time: ~8 hours. 3️⃣ Pick-Up Logistics Pick-up is usually only from central hotels. If you’re staying outside the center, you may need to meet at the Ángel de la Independencia Note: Departure is around 5 AM—plan extra time if meeting at a designated spot. 4️⃣ What to Wear Mornings can be chilly—bring a light jacket. Once the balloon fire is on, it gets warm… even hot! Don’t overdress. 5️⃣ Pro Viewing Tip!🤯 As soon as you arrive at the launch site, get into the basket early to secure a good spot! Early arrivals usually get the front row (facing the pyramids). Latecomers end up in the middle with limited views.💚 6️⃣ Pyramid Visit💚 You’ll explore the pyramids in the morning under strong sun—wear a hat and sunscreen! 🧴☀️ 7️⃣ Breakfast Note Breakfast is served after the balloon ride and pyramid tour. The food is pretty basic—eat beforehand if you’re hungry! #Mexico #MexicoCity #CDMX #Teotihuacan #Pyramids #HotAirBalloon #TravelTips #AncientCivilizations #BucketList
