đČđœ Sweet Adventures in Mexico City đźâš
While wandering around Mexico City, I tried so many little dessertsâsome planned, some stumbled upon đșïžđ€€. Most were in Roma Norte and JuĂĄrez. First up: the famous PanaderĂa Rosetta đ„đč Went on a weekday, both at noon and eveningâalways a long line! Was about to wait 40 mins, but got lucky đ when a staff member led us in unexpectedly! Ordered the famous rol de guayaba (guava roll) and a berry napoleon đđ°. The guava roll lived up to its nameâsweet and tangy fruit wrapped in buttery pastry. So good I wanted to take one home for the next day! The napoleon was a surprise highlightâflaky, airy layers that broke gently with each bite đ„đ„. Rich cream and butter flavors⊠My friend inhaled half of it the second it arrived đ. Next: CafĂ© Nin âđż Heard raves about their fig and walnut cakeâbut it was totally different than expected! Top layer: candied figs. Bottom: moist walnut cake. The cream was barely sweetâalmost slightly salty, simple and comforting. My friend and I were stunned at first biteâso unique and humbleâš. ThenâCHUROS! 𧥠We went to CHUCHO, a specialty shop where you can customize shape and toppings đšđ«. We tried two different styles, but honestlyâitâs still fried dough with chocolate sauce đ. Very very sweet thoughâshare one if youâre not a big sugar fan! :A little cart near ZĂłcalo (Constitution Square) selling warm fruit punch đđŻ Made with loquat, sugarcane, pear⊠steaming and sweet. I had a cold, so I grabbed a cupâand the vendor added a piece of fresh sugarcane đ. It was (sweet-sour) and fruity, a bit too sweet but weirdly nostalgicâlike the pear syrup we drank as kids đ§đŻ. (Top): A street snack called gaznateâlike fried tofu skin wrapped in wet meringue đŻâĄ Super sweet, drippy⊠only try if youâre curious! (Bottom): Flan from a local restaurant đź This one was weirdly porousânot the smooth, wobbly kind I love. Felt more like eating the bubbly bottom part of steamed egg đ„⊠During DĂa de Muertos, youâll also find Pan de Muerto everywhereâa sweet, soft bun often topped with sugar đ§Ąđđ. Definitely worth trying! #DayOfTheDead #MexicoCity #MexicoTravel #MexicanFood #DessertLover #TravelAndEat #FoodieAdventure đ€€âš
