π³π± Maastricht in One Day β Must-Visit Spots All Checked! βͺοΈ
Famous as the signing place of the Treaty of Maastricht, this charming European city is also close to the tri-border area of the Netherlands π³π±, Belgium π§πͺ, and Germany π©πͺ. With just one day of city walking, you can explore most of this beautiful town! π Selexyz Dominicanen (Heavenly Bookstore) π β Housed in an ancient church, said to be the "closest place to heaven," hence its name. The books are all in foreign languages (unreadable for me), but thereβs a photogenic corner on the second floorβsuper Instagrammable! π Pink Church (Sint Janskerk) β A striking and beautiful church. Free to enter, but climbing to higher levels requires a small fee. π Bonnefanten Museum π β A riverside museum with an industrial-style exterior. Didnβt go inside due to time constraints. π Hell Gate (Helpoort) οΏ½ β "Heaven inside, hell outside." In the past, plague victims were cast outside to perish, but now the area is filled with people singing and laughingβfull of joy! π Maastricht Meets Europe β A random photo spot near Hell Gate, perfect for group pics. π St. Servatius Bridge (Sint Servaasbrug) π β An ancient yet fascinating bridge! One section is fixed stone, while the other can be raised for passing ships. π Market Square (Markt) β A lively market during my visit. Great for photos on sunny days, surrounded by cozy restaurants. #NetherlandsTravel #Maastricht #HiddenGemTravel #TravelDiaries #CulturalSpots #NatureViews #SpontaneousTrip
