🇳🇱 What I Ate in Amsterdam | Delicious Finds
I was in Amsterdam for work and found these gems through Xiaohongshu and my own food radar! Since I’m not big on typical Western food, I skipped most Dutch dishes — but here are my top picks: 🍽️ Blushing Located near the museum district 🖼️ I ordered exactly what I saw online: Chocolate milkshake Apple pie 🥧 Pumpkin pancakes 🥞 "Eggcellent" (the name got me 😂) Everything was delicious! The scrambled eggs in "Eggcellent" were super tender. I originally asked for an iced chocolate milkshake, but the server said they only had hot — then surprised me with a cold one they made specially! 🥹 So touched, I left a 15% tip. 🍦 Van de Linde Super rich ice cream wrapped in fresh cream — so good! Definitely worth trying if you pass by. 🦞 Pesca A seafood restaurant where you pick your ingredients at the entrance. I just pointed at pictures: “This one, this one…” 🦀🦐 The food was great, but the standout was the bread dip — a savory cheese spread with seaweed and sesame. Absolutely incredible! The mustard-flavored salad was refreshing, and the soft-shell crab was fragrant. Skip the fried calamari — too soft. Pro tip: Just show them pictures! 📸 🍗 Kim‘so Their fried chicken is amazing! 🍗 Both sweet-spicy and honey-mustard sauces were great — juicy inside, crispy outside even with sauce. The gimbap and fried dumplings were tasty, but skip the kimchi pancake and bibimbap — the bibimbap sauce was too sweet. 🥢 Amber Garden This Chinese restaurant is so good it would stand out even in China! 😭 It serves fusion-style dishes. The spicy braised platter (duck wings and tongues) was tear-jerkingly delicious. The tofu with beef was unreal — the tofu was silky-smooth (like dessert tofu!), and the beef was tender. The bamboo shoot soup was incredibly flavorful — I wish there were more! This place cured my homesickness for real Chinese food. I’d be a regular if it were in China! ❤️ 🍜 Bird Thais We ended up here by accident — mixed it up with Snackbar Bird across the street (both have “bird” in the name 🐦). We had to stay and try it: Stir-fried noodles: too sweet for me ❌ Tom yum soup: clear version without coconut milk — okay Fried ribs and green papaya salad: tasty 👍 Curry: decent but not spicy #AmsterdamEats #FoodReview #TravelFoodie #ChineseFoodAbroad #AmsterdamFoodRecs
