🚌 Transport: • From Rotorua: InterCity bus 8:55-9:50 • Return: 4:10-5:15 • Uber/Taxi: For key hops 🗺️ My Route: 1️⃣ Taupō Visitor Centre → ✈️ Plane McDonald's (10min walk + iconic breakfast in a DC-3!) 2️⃣ 🚖 Uber 15min → Huka Falls Jet Boat (⭐ MUST-DO! Gets UNDER the falls!) 3️⃣ 🚶‍♀️ 25min walk (2km) → The Honey Hive 🍯 (Ice cream break + free tastings) 4️⃣ 🚶‍♀️ 20min walk (2km) → Huka Falls Lookout (Best photos at midday! ☀️) 5️⃣ 🚖 Uber back → Taupō Museum (Maori house exhibit—remove shoes!) 6️⃣ 🌊 Lakeside stroll → Bus pickup 🌟 Highlights: 🚤 Huka Falls Jet Boat: • UNIQUE—only in Taupō can you get under the falls! 💦 • Less "thrilling" than Queenstown’s, but more scenic! 🍯 The Honey Hive: • Cute pitstop (try manuka honey ice cream!) • Not worth a solo trip, but perfect en route 📸 Photography Tips: • Golden hour = 11AM-2PM for that mint-blue waterfall glow! • Rent bikes near falls to save time! 🚲 ⚠️ WARNING: • DOUBLE-CHECK BELONGINGS after jet boats!
