🇵🇹 Portuguese Gem in NYC — A Must-Try!

It was one of those late-night food adventures — stuck between Portuguese and Thai, and fate (and a delayed subway) led me to this cozy bistro in Greenwich Village. And wow, what a delicious choice it turned out to be! 🍖 Porco Preto (Iberian Pork Ribs) - $30 These pork ribs are slow-cooked until they’re fall-off-the-bone tender. Infused with red wine and local spices, with a hint of chili, every bite is packed with flavor. The sauce at the bottom of the plate was so good, I ended up dipping everything in it — even the steak! 🥩 Bife a Cervejeiro (Garlic Sirloin Steak) - $30 Pan-seared to juicy perfection, this garlicky sirloin comes with a creamy mushroom sauce. It was tender and rich, though honestly, after those incredible ribs, it had some tough competition. Still, a solid choice — especially that first bite! 🦐 Arroz de Marisco (Seafood Rice) - $48 Unlike Spanish paella, Portuguese seafood rice is a comforting, brothy dish loaded with mussels, clams, shrimp, and fish in a tangy tomato-based soup. The rice soaks up all that oceanic goodness, making it a must-order for seafood lovers. 🥧 Pastéis de Nata (Portuguese Egg Tart) - $6 each Visually beautiful but sadly not my favorite. The crust was a bit oily, and the filling felt dense and starchy — very different from the silky, custardy versions we’re used to. Luckily, the owner kindly gave us one on the house! 💵 Bill & Tips Our total came to around $140 including 20% tip. A heads-up — the pork ribs and steak together are quite filling, so if you’re dining with 2–3 people, maybe choose one meat dish and share the seafood rice. 📸 Atmosphere & Tips The first floor is beautifully decorated and lively, but it was fully booked when we visited. We sat upstairs, which was fine but lacked the same vibe. Recommendation: Book ahead and request a table downstairs for the full experience! A warm, flavorful, and hearty meal — perfect for chilly NYC nights. Already dreaming of those ribs… 😋 #PortugueseFoodNYC #GreenwichVillageEats #NYCBistro #SeafoodRice #IberianPork #NYCFoodie #CozyNYC #DateNightNYC #FoodExplorer
