🇷🇴 Cluj-Napoca Location Recommendations

I spent a few months in this Romanian city and had an excellent experience. With an urge to share and a challenge to post daily on Xiaohongshu, I'm here to write about my recommendations as a semi-resident:) I really like this city, it's full of life, and the locals are particularly friendly, inclusive, and welcoming me to join various activity communities and offering help. Downtown Area: 🍽️ Local Cuisine Restaurant: Roata (the appetizer, Zacusca, is a specialty. The main course with big fish and meat accompanied by sauerkraut is great. I recommend this place because they offer a Palinca welcome gift, which is like a shot of white wine to welcome you to Romania) (There's also Restaurant Valahia, which is another local cuisine restaurant, but it's a bit of a walk from the city center). 🌇 Sightseeing Route: Start from Piața Unirii Union Square and take a walk around. You can pass by two churches (one is Orthodox and the other is Christian). If you like botanical gardens, head south up the mountain to Grădina Botanică Alexandru Borza. There's an admission fee, but the view is great. If you prefer crowds and experiencing the local atmosphere, head north to the bustling downtown area, grab a drink, and sit or go to Parcul Central Central Park to relax:) 🍷 Samsara Teahouse is a tea bar where you can order Shisha, and it's decorated with quirky indoor decor that gives it a lot of character. //At Shadow Cafe-Bar, try the Zorro (a Romanian specialty shot with pickled cucumber, very refreshing hhhh Outside the City: Salina Turda: A salt mine, 40 minutes drive away, and there's a direct bus from the city. The scenery on the way is beautiful, and the scenery inside the salt mine is a matter of personal taste. Cheile Turzii: A hiking spot with different routes suitable for half-day or full-day trips, suitable for RV camping or friends who love hiking. Lake Tarnița: Cluj residents also have their own Como-like backyard garden, where you can kayak and hike. That's about it for now, I hope it's helpful for friends who are traveling to or staying in this city for a short time. #Romania #RomaniaTravel #Cluj #EastEuropeTravel
