🇷🇺 The Armed Forces Cathedral is Truly Breathtaking! 😮✨
The Armed Forces Cathedral was built to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Soviet victory in World War II and to honor Russia’s military achievements throughout history. The main dome has a diameter of 19.45 meters, symbolizing the victory in 1945. The floors of the cathedral are made from melted-down German tanks captured during the war — allowing every visitor to literally walk over history. 🚛➡️🪦 Inside, the murals break from traditional religious themes — instead, they depict scenes of battle: angels hovering over artillery units, soldiers carrying weapons, and even the Virgin Mary portrayed with a stern, powerful, and invincible expression. 🎨⚔️😇 Located in western Moscow, the cathedral is easily visited on the way back to the city after military-themed activities in the area.
