🇺🇸 Denver Food Guide | Everything You Need to Try in the Mile
I spent a week in Denver for work and made it my mission to eat through the best spots — here’s the full report! 🍜 O Lien Kitchen – 10/10 The biggest (and tastiest) surprise of the trip! BUN BO HUE COMBINATION: A rich Vietnamese noodle soup with beef ribs, pork knuckle, tendon, blood cake, and ham. The noodles are round and chewy — almost like Guilin rice noodles — and the texture is amazing! FRIED HUE CREPES: Crispy Vietnamese “egg crepes” stuffed with pork and shrimp. Eat them hot — pure heaven! The portions are HUGE — the owner even asked if I wanted a to-go box when I ordered 😅 🍳 The Universal – 9/10 A popular brunch spot near Downtown! Custard Toast: French toast topped with mixed berries (no evil cinnamon — yay!) — right up my alley 🍓 Biscuits and Gravy (half order): Southern-style biscuits with slightly spicy gravy — an unexpected but delicious combo! 🧇 Four Friends Kitchen – 8.5/10 A chic brunch place — packed even on weekdays! Bluegrass Benedict: Made with collard greens and biscuits instead of English muffins. Very Southern! The collard greens taste like pickled Chinese mustard greens — refreshing, though the biscuit wasn’t as crispy as The Universal’s. 🦆 Jaya Asian Grill – 9/10 An Asian gem (maybe in a Chinese neighborhood?). Only one guy taking orders, so it’s slow — but the food is worth it! Bebek Goreng: Indonesian-style fried duck — super crispy, not greasy, slightly dry but balanced by savory sambal. Kangkung: Spicy stir-fried water spinach — so fiery it brought tears to my eyes 🌶️ Even spicier than some Hunan spots! My Jiangxi soul was so happy — I finished the whole bowl. 🧋 Mike Tea People Yep, I went three times in one week 😌 A bubble tea shop in DT with THE BEST cheese foam I’ve had in the U.S. — reminds me of Hey Tea’s early glory days 🧀💫 Ube Jasmine Sweet Cream Golden Yunnan Cheese Cream (even better!) Sip it layered — the salty cream melting into the smooth tea is pure magic. #DenverEats #DenverFoodGuide #MileHighEats #FoodieTravel #VietnameseFood #BrunchLover
