🇺🇸 Florida: It's Hard Not to Fall in Love with St. Augustine!

In December 2023, our family took a road trip from Montreal, Canada 🇨🇦 to sunny Florida, USA 🇺🇸. After exploring several cities in Florida, St. Augustine stole our hearts! This charming, Spanish-style historic town is small but full of character—you can explore most of it in half a day. ✨ Best Time to Visit? Christmas! From November to January, the town hosts "Nights of Lights"—the entire old city is dazzlingly lit up at night! Sadly, it rained heavily during our visit, so we had to admire the lights from the car. Next time, I’d stay longer to soak it all in properly! 🅿️ Parking Tips During the holiday season, parking in the old town is a nightmare (and expensive!). ✅ Best Spot: 218 W King St (a free, spacious lot—just 10 mins walk to the old town). 🍷 San Sebastian Winery After parking, head east on King St to this winery—they offer free tastings of 9-14 wines (red & white). Honestly, the wine wasn’t exceptional (the spill-happy pours hinted at its affordability 😅), but it’s a fun stop! 🏛️ Flagler College Further east on King St, you’ll reach "America’s Most Beautiful College"—and it lives up to the hype! We spent over an hour here, taking photos and relaxing in the garden. Wish I could’ve studied in such a stunning place! 🛍️ Exploring the Old Town St. George Street: Lined with boutique shops & restaurants. Hyppo Gourmet Ice Pops: Overpriced ($5-$7) but fun flavors! Mexican Ceramic Shop: Gorgeous (but pricey) hand-painted pottery—great for window shopping! 🌙 Nights of Lights When the sun sets, the real magic begins—the entire town glows!
