While visiting wineries in Napa, we stopped by the nearby Oxbow Market and discovered Hog Island Oyster Co. — a popular oyster bar chain! We sat at the counter and got to watch them shuck oysters right in front of us 🧊🔪 Each one was taken from crushed ice, freshly opened, and served immediately with lemon and sauces. 🦪 Oyster Bar Mix ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Four types of oysters available that day — you can order individually or as a platter. They were so fresh and plump — even someone like me who doesn’t usually love oysters ended up having several! 🍲 Hog Island Clam Chowder ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cream-based and super fragrant — my favorite dish! Loaded with clams and bits of tender meat. 🐚 Steamed Mussels ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Also in a creamy broth with a hint of spice. The mussels varied in size but were tasty. 🍅 Rustic Seafood Stew ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tangy tomato-based soup — great with bread for dipping! The seafood was tender, and the acidity balanced well after richer dishes.
