🇺🇸 Kaya Restaurant in Pittsburgh – Honest Review & Letdown 😬
I noticed many positive posts about Kaya were from 2022. I visited on a weekday noon in November 2023 – maybe the quality has changed since then? 🧐 2️⃣ Tropical Paella – $27 ⭐️⭐️🌑🌑🌑 ✅ Pros: Huge portion, generous seafood—lots of shrimp and scallops. ❌ Cons: The rice tasted off—not flavorful or aromatic. Some clumps were completely bland. There were 6-7 mussels, and every one tasted fishy and not fresh. Not worth $27 at all. 3️⃣ Jerked Half Chicken – $24 ⭐️⭐️⭐️🌑🌑 ✅ Pros: Unique flavor with pineapple, cherry tomatoes, jalapeño, and avocado. ❌ Cons: Chicken was dry. Despite being called "half chicken," it didn’t include a wing. Portion felt small for the price. 4️⃣ Conch Fritters – $14 ⭐️⭐️⭐️🌑🌑 ✅ Pros: Crispy outside and tasty with the dipping sauce. ❌ Cons: Barely any conch inside—mostly fried batter. 💬 Final Thoughts: A mixed experience with more downsides than highlights. Maybe an off day, but probably won’t return soon. #FoodReview #PittsburghEats #KayaPittsburgh #HonestOpinion #FoodieFail #PittsburghFoodScene #AvoidIf
