🇺🇸 LA n/naka | A Dreamy Birthday Kaiseki Dinner 🎂🍣

Still smiling every time I look back at the photos from this meal 💫 After a not-so-great past kaiseki experience, I thought I’d fallen out of love with the genre — but n/naka totally won me back. Went in with modest expectations, left already planning my next visit 🙌 Perfect for anyone feeling a bit tired of traditional omakase — this is a refreshing twist! The fish and the truffle pasta were the absolute standouts — unforgettable! 😋 Portions were incredibly generous — just when you thought the Wagyu was the grand finale before dessert… They surprised us with six more pieces of nigiri + a hand roll! 🍣 We were treated to three dessert courses, and since it was my birthday, they gifted an extra sweet treat 🎁 Before the check, we enjoyed matcha cookies and yōkan (a classic Japanese jelly), and as we left, they gave us another box of pastries to take home 🎀 (Shoutout to all those high-end sushi spots that serve tamagoyaki as dessert — this is how you do it right! 😉) 📍 $450 per person Came straight after work, but still got the cutest photo with the chef 📸 They even had staff take a Polaroid for my birthday, and the chef came out to wish me a happy birthday personally — such a special touch 🥹 And a huge thanks to my lightning-fast-reservation-pulling-off bestie for joining me, and to my other dear friend for the surprise cake 🍰 Best birthday dinner ever 💋 #nakaLA #KaisekiDreams #BirthdayDining #LAFineDining #OmakaseLove
