Sitting by the crystal-clear lake, enjoying a plate of fresh oysters with a cold beer in hand… ☀️ The sunlight shimmering on the water, reflecting the iconic “fish bone” architecture of the art museum — this is the unforgettable experience at Harbor House, a gorgeous lakeside restaurant in Milwaukee. Located right on the shore next to the Milwaukee Art Museum, Harbor House offers both street parking and affordable $6 valet parking. 🚗💨 Reservations are recommended during peak season (credit card required), but you can also walk in when it’s less busy. The restaurant has two sections: main dining and bar seating. If you’re here just for oysters, the bar is perfect! Their oyster selection is displayed daily on a chalkboard 🦪📋, featuring varieties from the East Coast, West Coast, and Chef’s Selection. East & West Coast: $3.25 each | Half Dozen: $19 | Dozen: $38 Chef’s Selection: $4.25 each | Half Dozen: $25 | Dozen: $50 The server arranges them in order and gives you a guide so you know which is which — fun and delicious! 😄 We tried a half dozen of each (see labeled photo 📸), along with two beers. Every oyster was clean, plump, and super fresh — hardly any grit! Personally loved the East Coast ones for flavor, though West Coast oysters were bigger. Also recommend their clam chowder — creamy and satisfying 🥣. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall, a wonderful experience! If the weather’s warm, try snagging a seat in the deeper lakeside section.
