🇺🇸 Milwaukee Half-Day Trip
Had to make an unexpected trip to Milwaukee over the weekend, so I decided to spend half a day exploring. The weather shifted from sunny to cloudy, then overcast—walked over 10,000 steps and got colder with each step... 😅 The biggest takeaway? Milwaukee feels so empty! Aside from a few people in downtown, the riverwalk, lighthouse, and parks were almost deserted. Even along the river, with fancy apartments overhead, it felt like a ghost town~ The trail from McKinley Park to Government Pier was a mile long, and I only saw two people and one dog. Hard to believe it was a Saturday in April! Had lunch at St. Paul—since it’s a rare visit, I ordered way too much (planned to take leftovers home). The ingredients were fresh, but overall, it was just okay. 🦞 Lobster Roll: The bun wasn’t particularly soft, the fries were dry, and the lobster meat was crisp but nowhere near my all-time favorite GT Fish & Oyster... 😭 (RIP, I miss it so much!) 🍲 Clam Chowder: Way too watery—glad I only got a cup. 🐟 Fried Walleye: Actually meant to order cod, but the server recommended walleye. The fish itself was tasty, but the frying was overdone. 🍅 Bouillabaisse: Not a huge fan of seafood-tomato soup combos, and the broth was overly salty. #DayTrip #Milwaukee #Travel #MilwaukeeEats #ExploreWisconsin #FoodieAdventure #ChicagoDayTrip #MilwaukeeGuide #Wisconsin
