🇺🇸 MN Chinese Food Review: "Grand Szechuan" 🐼

Hey foodies! Just hit up Da Sichuan in Bloomington and my taste buds are on a rollercoaster! 🎢 Here's the real tea on what we ordered. ☕ 🍖 Sichuan Roasted Lamb: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tastes pretty much like cumin lamb. I think the lamb was actually roasted? 🤔 But heads up: the quality control is WILD. Sometimes it's perfectly fire-kissed, sometimes it's... barely there. 🐑🔥 🐔 "Bobo Chicken" (Potato Chicken?): ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Let's be real, this isn't Bobo Chicken. It's more like "Saliva Chicken" served in a pot! 😅 It actually tasted pretty good, but since I didn't want Saliva Chicken today, I'm deducting a star. 🤷‍♀️ 🍜 Sweet Water Noodles (Tian Shui Mian): ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sweet noodles with a spicy kick – the sweet & heat balance was on point! 👍 Never had the authentic Sichuan version, so no complaints from me! 🐄 Braised Beef: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was a win! 🏆 The beef was fall-apart tender and super flavorful. A tiny bit salty, but totally acceptable. That sauce over rice? Chef's kiss! 💋🍚 🌶️ Mapo Tofu: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Your standard, solid Mapo Tofu. It's a simple dish that's hard to mess up, and they didn't! 🤷 Portion was decent too. 🍡 Sweet Oil Rice Cakes (Tang You Ciba): ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Forgot to take a pic! 😫) Not the golden strips I expected, but pale yellow cubes with a light syrup. The portion is HUGE and super filling! 🚨 Warning: don't order if you're solo or have a small stomach! 🍺 Beer Duck: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Nothing super special, but it's a solid "beer duck." Got an extra star for nostalgia because hardly any restaurants serve this! ✨ 🐔 "La Zi Ji" (Chili Chicken): ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Some dishes called "Chili Chicken" look and taste more like "Green Pepper Chicken Dices." 🙃 This was one of them. It was tasty! But the name is misleading lol. 🍲 Dry Pot Chicken: ⭐️ RED ALERT! 🚨 AVOID! 🚨 Not only was it bland, but it didn't taste like dry pot at all. The wok-heat was missing, and the chicken had a slight... funk. 😬 Couldn't find a single redeeming quality. Phew!
