🇺🇸 New York | The egg noodle soup I can't forget🥹
🇺🇸 New York | The omu soba that’s been living rent-free in my mind 🥹 This cozy Japanese izakaya in Midtown is a total steal—only around $20 per person, but the flavors hit way above their price! The omu soba (egg-wrapped soba) is non-negotiable. The egg crepe is impossibly soft and fluffy, like a cloud that melts in your mouth ☁️ Topped with a drizzle of salad dressing, tangy takoyaki sauce, and a sprinkle of seaweed flakes, plus bonito flakes that wiggle gently on top—it’s a flavor party in every bite! The fried noodles underneath have that perfect smoky wok hei, with the sauce clinging to each strand without being soggy. I could eat this every week and never get tired of it 😋 The okonomiyaki is a standout too. The outer edge is crispy with a slight char, while the inside is soft and chewy—you can taste the savory mix of flour, cabbage, and bits of seafood. It’s so authentic, it transported me right back to the street stalls in Osaka 🥹 Don’t sleep on the Rice Crunch! It’s a fun little dish—crunchy, toasted rice cakes topped with fresh sashimi and popping fish roe. The contrast of textures (crunchy vs. tender vs. bursty) is chef’s kiss 👩🍳💋 Heads up: The portions are massive! By the end of the meal, we were all leaning back, totally stuffed with carbs but grinning like idiots. For this kind of quality and value? We’re already planning our next visit 🗓️ 📍 Sake Bar Hagi #NewYorkFood #NewYorkLife #Manhattan #NewYorkEats #JapaneseIzakaya #NewYorkJapaneseFood #NewYorkTravel #NewYorkStudyAbroad #NewYorkWeekend
