🇺🇸 NYC Solo/Duo Dining EP04 | Japanese & Korean Comforts

Already at episode 4! 📝 Looking back at these photos, the flavors still come to mind. This round: three cozy rice bowls + one light Japanese fusion spot. 🍣 YUBU Soho Just tried today—sweet inari sushi with generous toppings. The torched salmon was fresh and nice, mushroom toppings were sweet and savory. The beef one was seasoned well, though it was minced beef, not sliced. The rice, though, was oddly sticky and clumpy… texture was off. For inari sushi rice, I still prefer Café East near Columbia (but hey, $10 for 3 pieces here—decent value). 🍱 Raku - Midtown Skipped the udon and went for Unatama Don—a happy surprise! Grilled eel + super silky egg + sweet soft onions = a comforting bowl. The white pepper on top was the perfect touch—cut the richness just right. 🥢 Rule of Thirds (BK - Greenpoint) A popular Japanese brunch spot—dinner menu holds up too. P5: A refreshing yet flavorful pesto-style noodle dish with zucchini cut like noodles. The onsen egg wrapped everything in basil and pine nut aroma—occasional sweet-tart cherry tomatoes made it bright. P6: A curious tofu appetizer—both sweet and salty, a bit unusual but not bad. 🥩 Antoya Korean BBQ An amazing lunch set! That LA Galbi (short rib) was tender, with pure grilled meat and sauce aroma. Sides included tasty fried dumplings, black sesame tofu (highly recommend!), honey-glazed pumpkin, and a savory beef soup. Left feeling energized for the afternoon. 🎓 Final note: I’m graduating soon… maybe it’s time to try some “white people food,” huh?
