🇺🇸 NYC Solo Dining|A Truly Charming Italian Wine Bar

I fell in love with Borgo on my first visit — but I waited until now to share because my photos last time weren’t doing it justice 😅. Recently, they launched lunch service, so I happily returned. Highlights this time: 🍞 Chicken Liver Crostini – As a liver lover, I order this everywhere. Borgo’s version is exceptionally smooth, rich, and free of any off-flavors. Topped with fennel pollen and black pepper, it’s spread over crispy, oil-brushed bread with just the right touch of sweetness. Perfect with wine. 🧀 Buffalo Mozzarella – Fresh and creamy, but the real star here was the roasted zucchini served alongside — sweet, tangy, and juicy, topped with toasted hazelnuts for crunch and aroma. Another great pairing for a glass of wine 🍷. From my earlier visit: 🥩 Beef Tartare – Just okay. It had been frozen and the texture suffered a bit upon thawing. 🍝 Guinea Hen Ragu Fettuccine – Delicate, thin pasta coated in a rich, finely minced game hen ragu. Silky, savory, and deeply satisfying. 🐇 Fried Rabbit – Generous portion, slightly salty (ideal with wine!). The rabbit was tender, coated in a fragrant rosemary-herbed crust, and served with roasted peppers and lemon for brightness. The sauce — like a lemony meat jus — balanced the richness perfectly. Desserts were fine but not memorable. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, service is attentive, and their wine list is thoughtfully curated with many enjoyable pours. If you're looking for a cozy yet vibrant Italian spot with honest, flavorful cooking and great drinks, Borgo is absolutely worth a visit — solo or with friends! #BorgoNYC #ItalianWineBar #SoloDiningNYC #NYCEats #ComfortFood #NYCRestaurants #WineBar #NYCFoodie #LowerEastSide #DateNightSpot #ChickenLiver #PastaLover #HiddenGem #EatDrinkNYC
