🇺🇸 One Day in Jacksonville, FL: Museums + Food Tour 🎨🍜

Feeling a bit stuck in Gainesville? I took a refreshing day trip to Jacksonville last weekend! Here’s how it went: 🚗 Itinerary: Left at 10:30 AM → Lunch at Oishi Sushi 🍣 → Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens 🖼️ → St. John’s Town Center 🛍️ → Dinner at Top Pot & K BBQ 🍲→ Headed back. 🌿 Cummer Museum: The gardens are lovely — classic flamingos, colorful flowers 🌺, and a peaceful view of the St. Johns River. As for the art? 🎨 Even an art newbie like me enjoyed the paintings! Spent over 2 hours there. 🛍️ St. John’s Town Center: A large outdoor mall (kinda like an outlet). We only did a quick browse. 🍽️ Food Reviews: 🍣 Oishi Sushi: Just okay — the sashimi didn’t taste very fresh. 🍖 Top Pot & K BBQ: 👍 Highly recommend! All-you-can-eat hotpot + BBQ (we did hotpot only to save time). Much better than similar-priced places in Gainesville! Rich sesame & peanut sauces, great meat 🥩, real shrimp paste (not starch!), wide variety of dishes. Loved the sago dessert & snow fungus soup 🍧 — had multiple bowls! Complimentary popcorn chicken was tasty 🍗 (skip the seafood pancake if you want). Only note: The sauce bar could use more options (like fermented tofu).
