🇺🇸 Rochester | Mediterranean Gem - Chortke 🍽️🌿
The decor here is gorgeous – definitely a popular date spot on a Friday night! 💑✨ Formerly known for Persian cuisine, it’s now branded as “New American,” but the Middle Eastern/Mediterranean soul is still strong. 🔥 Lamb Lollipop – used to be their star dish, but this time… major fail 😤. The meat was tender, but someone went WAY too heavy on the salt. 🦆 Foie Gras App – very rare… barely seared. Felt like I ate almost nothing. 🥗 Beet Salad – refreshing mix with arugula, yogurt, and orange! 🥬 Brussels Sprouts – crispy and well-cooked. 😢 Sadly, their famous roasted cauliflower is gone from the menu… They used to roast it perfectly, but the sauce was always too heavy. Hope they bring it back with a lighter touch! 🐙 Other dishes I’ve tried before like grilled octopus and ham flatbread were delicious. ⚠️ But a word of advice: avoid any “Asian fusion” specials. They’re always a letdown… at least here in Rochester. 🍈✨ NEW FAVORITE ALERT: Lamb Confit Flatbread – OMG. Who came up with this?? Tender braised lamb with dates, goat cheese, and figs… Sweet, savory, creamy, incredible. One bite and I was hooked. Couldn’t stop eating! Personal food diary 📝 – all opinions my own.
