๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Rochester Trip Guide: Perfect for Families with Kids! ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ

If youโ€™re planning a trip to The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester โ€” youโ€™re in for a treat! Known as one of the top child-friendly museums in both the U.S. and Canada, it truly lives up to the hype. One day is NOT enough โ€” we highly recommend a two-day pass! ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ๐Ÿ’– ๐Ÿ›‚ Border Crossing Tips: We used the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge on the way there โ€” located near Niagara-on-the-Lake ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿท, with plenty of wineries to explore nearby. Wait time was less than 20 minutes on a long weekend, and thereโ€™s no toll fee on this bridge. On the way back, we took the Rainbow Bridge ๐ŸŒˆ โ€” which does have a toll โ€” and got a gorgeous view of Niagara Falls! ๐Ÿ›ฃ๏ธ Navigating U.S. Tolls: Right after crossing, find an E-ZPass retailer using their online store locator ๐Ÿงญ. We bought ours at Wegmans (customer service desk). Register the tag online ๐Ÿท๏ธ, stick it on your windshield, and add funds โ€” it works like the 407 transponder but way cheaper! A full toll ride to Rochester costs only around $6-7 and saves ~40 mins. โš ๏ธ Just a heads-up: some Rochester toll roads are poorly lit. Cheap butโ€ฆ a little dark! ๐Ÿ˜… ๐Ÿ›๏ธ The Strong National Museum of Play: Fun for both kids AND adults! As soon as you enter, youโ€™ll see a grand spiral staircase leading to the second floor โ€” which is a literal time capsule of childhood ๐Ÿ•น๏ธ๐Ÿ‘พ! Classic โ€˜90s arcade games and consoles Vintage anime and toy exhibits (some dating back to the 1800s!) Special Age of Empires exhibit โ€” hearing that battle horn brought back so many memories! ๐ŸŽฎโš”๏ธ A digital gaming zone where you use a wristband to unlock games ๐Ÿ•ถ๏ธ๐ŸŽช The first floor is ideal for kids under 10: Jungle gyms, science exhibits, craft zones ๐Ÿงชโœ‚๏ธ Aquarium, Sesame Street area, mini-golf, and a pretend supermarket ๐Ÿ›’๐Ÿ  Outdoor playground and more! ๐Ÿ’ฐ Extra paid attractions include: Mini-train ๐Ÿš‚ Zipline Carousel ๐ŸŽ  Butterfly garden ๐Ÿฆ‹ (skip this one โ€” itโ€™s quite small) Thereโ€™s a cafรฉ and restaurant inside โ€” great for quick bites โ˜•๐Ÿฅช. ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Restaurant Recommendation: Try The Cheesecake Factory โ€” just 15 minutes from the museum! Avoid peak dining hours to skip the lines. Great value and yummy portions ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ˜‹. ๐Ÿ“Œ Perfect for a long weekend trip โ€” educational, fun, and full of memories! #Rochester #WeekendGetaway #FamilyTravel #StrongMuseum #KidsActivities
