🇺🇸 The Must-Visit Castle in Napa

📍 Calistoga, Napa Valley If you only visit one winery in Napa, make it Castello di Amorosa! First, it’s incredibly photogenic 📸. Second, it’s a legit medieval-style castle built with authentic materials and techniques. 🧱 The Story Behind the Castle Owner Dario Sattui (4th-gen heir of V. Sattui Winery) spent 15 years building this dream! He shipped 200 containers of original stones, wood beams, iron gates, and bricks from Italy and Austria 🚢. Inspired by Tuscan castles, he studied 12th–14th-century architecture and hired traditional craftsmen to build it historically accurate. 🏰 Inside the Castle 107 rooms including a chapel, dungeon, drawbridge, knight’s hall, and even a torture chamber… 😮 Yes, it’s as cool as it sounds! 🍷 How’s the Wine? We did the basic tasting – 5 wines per person. Started with sweet wines 🍇, but switched to non-alcoholic wine (not recommended – tasted weird!) and grape juice (the real star here!). Their grape juices are unique and delicious – we bought all three flavors: sparkling red, and two white ones ($12–16 each). 🎫 Ticket Tips $60: Basic tasting (5 wines) $75: Tasting + guided tour $115: Tour + 6 wines + cheese & crackers Highly recommend the tour to learn the history and explore freely! 📸 Photo Alert! The castle is a photographer’s dream! We even ran back to the car to grab our camera 📷. Perfect backdrops: walls, towers, gates, vineyards. Popular for weddings and photoshoots! Address: 4045 St Helena Hwy, Calistoga, CA Reservations essential! #Napa #CastelloDiAmorosa #Winery #MedievalCastle #CaliforniaTravel #WineTasting
