🌊 Thanksgiving Trip - Virginia Beach Spent a three-day, two-night Thanksgiving getaway with friends at Virginia Beach. Chose it for its proximity to DC and relatively smaller crowds. 🛫 DCA Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport 🛬 ORF Norfolk International Airport Due to various reasons, we ended up flying both ways. The flight was just 30 minutes—probably the shortest flight I’ve ever been on 😅. Still, I’d recommend driving if you can—it’s about a 4-hour trip from DC. 🏨 Delta Hotels by Marriott Virginia Beach Bayfront Suites 📍 2800 Shore Dr, Virginia Beach, VA 23451 The hotel was great—spacious suites with complete amenities. Step out from the back, and you’re right on a “private beach.” Secluded, clean, and not crowded. Plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. Prices were reasonable even during the holiday season, offering good value. The only downside: the hotel is tucked away in a quiet area, so Ubers took a bit longer to arrive, and rides to nearby spots took around 20 minutes. 🐟 Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center There aren’t tons of activities in the area—it’s mostly about the beach. We’d planned to visit Atlantic Fun Park, but it was closed, so we ended up at the aquarium instead. It was engaging and had interactive exhibits. 🍴 Restaurants Here are four places we picked based on Google Maps ratings—decent overall, for your reference: 1️⃣ Judy’s Sichuan Cuisine (Sichuanese) Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 2️⃣ Le Yaca Virginia Beach (French) Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3️⃣ Waterman's Surfside Grille (Seafood) Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️+ 4️⃣ Tin Cup Kitchen + Oyster Bar (Seafood) Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5️⃣ A friend also recommended Steinhilber's Restaurant, but we didn’t have time to try it. All in all, it was a relaxing and joyful trip 😇. The beach was chilly in winter, but still pleasant. Caught a gorgeous seaside sunset—absolutely breathtaking 🥰. Great for a simple, nearby retreat.
