๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ Edinburgh's Long-Standing French Michelin One-Star
Restaurant Martin Wishart Standard Michelin dishes, integrating local Scottish ingredients into French cuisine. It feels quite similar in style to Cail Bruich, and both are easy to book (not really). The tasting menu I chose that day was not very salty. Vegetarian-friendly with a vegetarian menu, tasting menu, celebration menu, and ร la carte options. Except for the celebration menu, which requires the whole table to order the same, the others can be mixed and matched. Thereโs also a lunch menu available at midday. ๐ฝ๏ธ Amuse-Bouche 1 : Salmon mousse. Itโs a bit pink and slightly fishy, but the tart version is delicious. ๐ Bread and Butter : The bread comes with three sauces (truffle, butter, tomato). The bread can be refilled. The truffle sauce is indeed salty. I saw previous reviews mentioning that the dishes here are salty, probably due to the truffle. The following dishes didnโt have truffle and were quite refreshing. ๐ฅช Standard Amuse-Bouche : Quite tasty. ๐ Raw Flounder with Mango and Passion Fruit Sauce : It has a shrimp-like texture, doesnโt feel raw at all, and is very refreshing. ๐ Scallop with Pumpkin : Also delicious, but personally, I didnโt like the seared side. It felt unnecessary and had an unpleasant texture. ๐ฆช Grouper : Very fresh and tender. ๐ Beef Cheek (Best of the Meal) : The beef cheek was tender and delicious, and the thymus was also good. However, my portion seemed to have a slight bitter taste. ๐ฅ Strawberry Dessert : Not overly sweet at all, and very enjoyable. ๐ Cheese Platter : A great variety of delicious cheeses. The cheese lover in me was very satisfied. ๐ง #Glasgow #Edinburgh #UKLife #UKCuisine #UKMichelin #UKMichelinOneStar #ScotlandMichelin #EdinburghMichelin
