ăUK Travel Diary 14ă ăCardiff: The Welsh Capitală July 15th â Took the 10 AM train from Bristol and arrived in Cardiff, the capital of Wales, in just one hour. First impression? The weather was perfect! âď¸ Blue skies and fluffy clouds, like a real-life filter. But Welsh weather is famously unpredictableâsun one minute, rain the next, switching all day long. đŚď¸ Cardiffâs architecture is stunningâthe City Hall and National Museum stand side by side, both grand stone structures, with Cardiff University right behind them. The city has a beautiful shopping street packed with pubs, leading straight to Cardiff Castle (they form a T-shape). Behind the castle lies Bute Park, with vast green lawns and towering ancient treesâabsolutely serene! đł We also visited a small but picturesque swan lake on the cityâs edge, which rivaled Londonâs Hyde Park in charm. In the afternoon, we explored the National Museum Cardiffâand wow, what a treasure trove! đď¸ Compared to many grand but sparsely filled museums back home, this one was jam-packed with exhibitsâso much so it almost triggered my claustrophobia! đ The best part? No restrictive glass casesâyou can get up close to artifacts, take photos, and truly appreciate them. The museum covers everything: astronomy, history, geography, natural science, and biology, with incredibly lifelike animal specimens. I noticed tons of kids inside, even parents pushing strollers with babies. Itâs clear why the West excels in scienceâthey start young! đ§đ (Honestly, this beats cram school any day.) For dinner, we hit up a highly rated Thai restaurant on Cardiffâs bustling shopping street. đ Across the way was a packed bar full of laughing, beer-drinking localsâso many attractive people! đť The vibe was electric, and I thought: "Depression must be rare here, and finding love? Probably not hard with this many parties!" đ #CardiffDiaries #WalesTravel #UKMuseums #CastleWanderer #PubCulture #NoBadWeatherJustBadOutfits
