Cardiff β the capital of Wales. Its Welsh name Caerdyf means "fortress on the Taff". A modern city perfect for urban exploring πΆββοΈπ β° Spent 6 hours entirely on foot β ideal for a day trip! π Train station is very convenient. We drove and parked at North Road Pay and Display Car Park near Bute Park β Β£10 for 8 hours. The city is divided into two parts: City Centre and Cardiff Bay. Itβs about a 30-minute walk one way, or you can take a boat! π€ πΌ City Centre β«οΈ Bute Park (CF10 3ER) Large green spaces perfect for a relaxing stroll π³π β«οΈ Cardiff Castle (CF10 3RB) Adult ticket Β£15.5. Worth visiting inside! The castle has a steep spiral staircase (not too high), limited open areas in the House, and you can photograph the red dragon π without a ticket. β«οΈ Cardiff City Hall (CF10 3ND) Grand architecture β 4-5 mins walk from the park. β«οΈ Queen Street The main shopping street with restaurants and shops ποΈ β«οΈ National Museum Cardiff (CF10 3NP) Free entry! Closed Mondays. We skipped it since weβd already seen Monet and Van Gogh in Paris and Amsterdam πΌοΈ β«οΈ Cardiff Market Closed on Bank Holiday π’ Missed trying Welsh cakes at the famous Bakestone β«οΈ Cardiff Antique Centre (CF10 1AE) A vintage market under one roof β you might find hidden treasures! πͺ πΌ Cardiff Bay β«οΈ Wales Millennium Centre (CF10 5AL) Performing arts venue β great resting spot on the ground floor π β«οΈ Pierhead Building (CF10 4PZ) A striking red-brick landmark π§± β«οΈ Norwegian Church Arts Centre (CF10 4PA) A charming cultural spot by the water βͺ Walking along the bay with the sea breeze was so relaxing! π Thereβs a Ferris wheel π‘, street food stalls, souvenirs, ice cream π¦, a kids' play area, and even live stage performances! π Highly recommend Yakitori1 β a Japanese restaurant near the bay.
