Find Things to DoFind The Best Restaurants

🦆 Toronto DT 🍴 | Tonight, I'm a Huge Fan of Duck Confit

I wasn’t sure how to plan my meals this weekend, and finding a spot with friends became a bit of a challenge. After much searching, we finally found a French restaurant with available reservations. Coquilles St-Jacques: When ordering, I had imagined from online pictures that the portion would be quite large (at least like a potato cake), but in reality, it was a tiny dish. The scallops, however, were incredibly fresh! They paired perfectly with the herb butter sauce. The potato cake was very small but had a nicely crisped outer layer! Escargots Bourguignons: The baked snails were delicious, but the garlic butter combined with the milk was super, super oily—so much that it felt greasy. However, the small bun and scallop sauce together were much tastier. Duck Confit: The star of the evening! The duck leg was incredibly crispy and not greasy, with a texture completely different from crispy duck skin! It was tender and not fatty, though the beans underneath were quite salty. It felt like the duck and beans came from different kitchens. Épaule d’Agneau: I expected this to be similar to the lamb chops I had in Montreal, but it had a noticeable gamey flavor. The beans below were still hard to enjoy. At $38 🔪, this dish was a bit disappointing. Overall, aside from the last dish, it was a great dining experience! #CanadianLife #CanadianFood #WeekendDining #RestaurantRecommendation ### Name: Le Sélect Bistro Address: 432 Wellington St W, Toronto, ON M5V 1E3 Type: Restaurant ###
