3 Days 2 Nights in Kazan: A Perfect Free & Easy Trip

Kazan is amazing—I loved it! ❤️ D1: Moscow → Kazan Just over an hour by flight ✈️! Checked into Ibis Hotel (super close to Bauman Street—5 mins walk 🚶‍♀️). Dinner at SHTOF: Grilled pork ribs, avocado salad, baked buns, and beef bone marrow were all delicious 😋. The bone broth served with the buns wasn’t great (mainly because I hate fennel 🌿). After dinner, strolled along Bauman Street all the way to the Kremlin 🏰. Back at the hotel by 10 PM. Bauman Street has tons of souvenir shops—fridge magnet lovers will be in heaven 🧲💖! Also, lots of street performances: singing, painting, even fire-breathing 🔥—so lively! D2: Sviyazhsk Island You can get there by boat 🚢 or taxi 🚗. If taking a boat, book tickets a few days early—I learned the hard way 😅 (sold out in summer!). Taxi from downtown: ~1 hour, around ₽2000 💸. Free entry ticket required (pick up at the ticket office). Paid museums available (didn’t check prices), but island access is free 🆓. The island is small 🏝️—mainly pretty churches and Volga River views 🌊. No boat back? No taxi? I took a "black cab" to the nearest train station (₽600), then train to Kazan Station (₽110). ⚠️ Strong UV on the island—bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and an umbrella ☀️🕶️🌂! Dinner at China Impression (near Epiphany Cathedral)—scan to order, choose spice level 🌶️! Highly recommended! 👍 D3: Leisure Day Slept in 😴→ picked a DIY route using the hotel map 🗺️: Kazan Cat Statue 🐱 Peter and Paul Cathedral ⛪ Palace of Farmers (must-see! Stunning architecture! 😍✨) Bowl of Love (across the river, 4-min taxi 🚕). Paid ₽200 for the rooftop view (no elevator—climb ~7 floors 😅, forgot to count!).
