4.8 cents over parity omakase is awesome
The weather in New York is finally warming up, and it’s that time of year again—time to focus on eating fish 🐟! I was shopping in SoHo over the weekend and spotted this little omakase spot. Checked the map and saw it has a 4.8 rating, so I immediately sat down. Sharing my thoughts for you all! They have two menu options: 13 pieces for $69 and 16 pieces for $89—both super affordable. After eating, I realized apart from one wagyu and foie gras dish, everything else was fish 🐟! It starts with two sashimi appetizers. The one with oolong tea soy sauce was really interesting, and the salmon was as fatty and delicious as ever. Then came 13 sushi pieces in quick succession. The sweet shrimp and scallops were huge and tasty. There were two tuna pieces, from lean to fatty. The Japanese firefly squid was super tender with a unique seasoning, and there was even a separate piece of uni—rare for this price point! The second-to-last dish was wagyu with foie gras, and the foie gras was seared so fragrant 😭—plus there were two pieces! It ended perfectly with a tuna hand roll. No egg custard or miso soup to fill space—just fish, fish, fish, fish 🐟🐟🐟🐟. So happy! The chef was in a chatty mood the day we went and gave everyone free sake 🍶. Genuinely felt that sometimes a great day just needs walking into a cozy little spot randomly. That’s today’s share—hope I made you hungry 😉 Follow me if you want more NYC food and life content.
