5 Hidden Gem Restaurants in Milan That Are Both Beautiful

Spent 6 days in Milan and couldn’t help but marvel—it’s so much tastier than Florence and Rome! Some of these spots were recommended by friends who’ve lived in Milan for years. Here are 5 foolproof restaurants I’m noting down for my next visit! 🍽️ Langosteria Café Milano This is a very established seafood restaurant in Milan with four locations. We went to the one near the Duomo. During Milan Fashion Week, reservations are incredibly hard to secure—Gao Yuanyuan had dined there just the day before us! If locals crave seafood, this is the first place that comes to mind because their seafood is incredibly fresh. Aside from the seafood tower I’d been dreaming of, their pasta, roasted sea bass, and fried seafood platter are all highly recommended. Average cost: €100+ per person 🍽️ Sogni Calling it the most beautiful restaurant in Milan isn’t an exaggeration—every detail is infused with design aesthetics. In 2023, Vogue named it one of the most anticipated restaurants in the fashion world. If you want a visually stunning dining experience, Sogni is a must. This vibe-driven seafood restaurant is divided into a bar and a formal dining area, with three distinct themed sections. We sat at the circular communal table, which felt like attending an upper-class European dinner party. Online reviews are mixed on the taste, but I thought it was decent—the dishes in the photos were all good, though since my friend ordered, I don’t remember the names. Average cost: €100+ per person 🌟 Both of the above restaurants require advance reservations and a deposit, but you can reschedule for free (if there’s availability). 🍽️ Primevo If you’re craving steak in Milan, this is the place. We all agreed it was much better than the T-bone steak at Florence’s "Best Steak 101." The meat quality here is excellent, with a wide selection of cuts. A local Milanese friend took us here, and the diners were almost all locals. Average cost: Not sure (friends treated us) 🍽️ Le Chalet An Italian seafood restaurant with high ratings on Chinese review platforms. Since it was near our hotel, this seafood lover headed straight there. The food was indeed delicious and great value, with huge portions. The owner was super friendly and even gave us water when we left. Recommended dishes: grilled seafood platter, crab roe pasta, oysters, and octopus salad. Average cost: €40 per person 🍽️ Tanwan A Taiwanese restaurant we stumbled upon near our hotel—what a surprise! After days of "white people food," this place was a warm hug for our stomachs. Their signature Taiwanese braised beef noodle soup was so good that my husband wanted to return the next day! Other dishes like minced pork rice, popcorn chicken, green beans, and eggplant hotpot were also delicious. The owner is Taiwanese, so the flavors are authentic, and it seems to be a favorite among international students based on TripAdvisor reviews. Average cost: €30 per person #ItalianCuisine #Milan #VibeRestaurants #HiddenGems #MyGoToSpots #RestaurantRecommendations #DateNight #MilanEats
