6 Days, 5 Nights in Alaska for Only $2200 Per Person
š²āØ I used to think Alaska was all about the northern lights⦠but wow, was I wrong! My spontaneous Labor Day weekend trip showed me that summer in Alaska is literally BREATHTAKING š¤Æš. I caught the very last bit of summer sunshine in Anchorage and beyond. Hereās my full 6-day, 5-night itinerary packed with natural wonders, wildlife, and affordable luxuryāall without breaking the bank! Day 1ļøā£: Arrival in Anchorage āļø Flight: Round trip $250 (booked in advance!) šØ Hotel: Hyatt House (used pointsāabout 40,000 points for 5 nights? Worth it!) š Breakfast includedātheir fruit platter was so fresh! Also grabbed free Brita bottles and energy bars which literally saved us during long days out. š First impression: CLEAN AIR, MOUNTAIN VIEWS, AND MIDNIGHT SUN! Anchorage is way more than a stopover. Day 2ļøā£: Palmer + Heli & Paddle Tour š Booked a 4-hour helicopter + paddleboarding tour on Viatorā$1,000 (yes, the splurge of the trip⦠but SO worth it). We saw TWO blue ice caves!! Paddling on a glacial lake with icebergs around me felt like another planet šš. šø Photos came out like National Geographic. If you do one thing in Alaskaāmake it this. š» Lunch at Glacier Brewhouse in Anchorageāloved their seafood! ~$65 per person. š” Stayed at a motel in Wasillaācozy and cheap at $250/night. Day 3ļøā£: Matanuska Glacier Tour āļø Took a guided glacier walkā$150 for 3 hours. Honest review? SKIP IT if youāve already done a helicopter tour. The ice wasnāt as bright blue, the path was mostly dark frozen soil š¬, and the water was muddy. Not insta-worthy. š Drove to Seward after. š½ļø Dinner at a local spotāpretty bland, $60 per person. š” Stayed at Seward Breeze Innābasic but clean, ~$250/night. Day 4ļøā£: Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise š„ļø 6-hour wildlife and glacier cruiseā$250 per person (lunch included!). We saw HUMPBACK WHALES š, orcas, sea lions, mountain goats, and so many birds! The water was unreal turquoise š. When we reached the glacierāMIND BLOWN. Massive, blue, pristine⦠and we even witnessed a huge chunk calving into the water! The sound echoed for ages. Note: Bring binoculars and a good jacketāit gets chilly! Day 5ļøā£: Exit Glacier + Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center š„¾ Hiked Exit GlacierāFREE and gorgeous! Easy trail with epic views. š¦ Then visited the Conservation Center ($25)āsaw bison, moose, bears, elk⦠almost everything except foxes (which was fine cause theyāre sneaky anyway). Only downside: some enclosures have fences, so photo ops arenāt perfect. šŗ Dinner at 49th State Breweryāokay, not amazing. ~$55 per person. šØ Stayed again on points at Hyatt Place. Day 6ļøā£: Anchorage Sightseeing & Flight Home šļø Visited the Anch Museumā$25, pretty interesting! š³ Walked around downtown parksākinda boring tbh. You donāt need more than half a day here. āļø Flew home feeling fulfilled and already dreaming of my next Alaska trip! Final Thoughts: You donāt need to be rich to experience Alaskaās beauty. With smart planningāusing points, choosing tours wisely, and packing snacksāyou can have an unforgettable light-luxury experience under budget! Would I go again? ABSOLUTELY. Maybe next timeāaurora season? āļøš #US #Alaska #Anchorage
