Overview of the Reconstruction of the World Trade Center Site in New York 🌃 🍃🌸 On September 11, 2001, the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York were destroyed in a terrorist attack. Afterward, the New York government began a reconstruction plan. In 2003, the "Memory Foundations" proposal by Studio Daniel Libeskind was selected as the master plan for the site. 🍃🌸The plan includes five skyscrapers, a memorial, a museum, a transportation hub, and a performing arts center. 🔸 9/11 National Memorial & Museum — Opened in 2011 (Memorial Plaza), 2014 (Museum) Design: Michael Arad, Peter Walker, Davis Brody Bond, Snøhetta The site where the Twin Towers collapsed has been turned into a memorial — two large pools recessed into the ground, with water quietly flowing. 🍃🌸 The names of all the victims are inscribed on the walls surrounding the pools. On September 11, 2011, the tenth anniversary of the terrorist attack, the memorial was officially opened. #NewYork 🌟
