9/11 New York Never Forget
The last time I visited the 9/11 Memorial was three years ago, on September 11th, before I left New York for California. π’π 9/11 seems to be a wound that all New Yorkers will never forget. Even knowing that the atmosphere would be heavy, I still went. I repeatedly told my cousins who were visiting for the first time, βDonβt play around and be respectful.β On this day, people come to Ground Zero to lay flowers and letters for their loved ones, touching the names on the memorial stones over and over again. π’π Many retired and serving police officers and firefighters neatly put on their uniforms, standing for a long time in front of the names of their former comrades, reluctant to leave. As night falls, looking up to see two beams of blue light piercing through the darkness and illuminating the New York night sky. Every year, from dusk to dawn. π’π #NewYork #911Memorial π―οΈπ
