A 🫣 that you can walk to in two minutes from NYU
Just a 2-minute walk from the NYU library, there’s a delicious Jiangsu-Zhejiang canteen hidden away—and they’ve got Sichuan and Cantonese dishes too! When I didn’t know what to eat after class, I headed here, and the dishes I tried were all amazing 😋 First up is my absolute favorite: Stone Pot Beef Liver Mushroom Bibimbap! The staff will pour the beef liver mushrooms into the pot and stir it up right in front of you. The rice sizzles in the hot stone pot, and the aroma hits you instantly 🥰 The mushrooms are in big chunks, fresh and flavorful, and the portion is generous—for just over $20, it’s such a steal. You have to try it! Sizzling Eel Shreds—I’d been craving this for ages! The rich, savory sauce is so perfect with rice 🍚 The Salted Egg Yolk Lion’s Head is delicious too—I’m obsessed with the salty-savory flavor of the salted egg yolk 🥚 Lychee Shrimp Balls are super pretty—they really look like lychees! The shrimp inside is plump and bouncy 🦐 We also ordered stir-fried pea shoots, which were tender, and the egg milk fermented glutinous rice drink—sweet and refreshing. The osmanthus tremella soup was great too, so soothing for the stomach 🍯 We really wanted to try the squirrel fish, but we got there too late and it was sold out! Xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), salted pork and bamboo shoot soup, and crab roe rice cakes are already on our next order list 📝 📍 Yum Cha 228 Thompson St, New York, NY 10012 #NewYorkFood #NewYorkEats #NewYorkLife #NewYorkRestaurants #NYU #NewYorkUniversity #NewYorkStudyAbroad #ManhattanFood #NewYorkFoodGuide
