A Beautiful & Quaint Vintage Hotel Near Union Square, San Francisco 🏨
To be honest, I booked this hotel by accident, thinking it was the Beresford Hotel where we stayed 10 years ago—but what a happy mistake it turned out to be! This charming vintage hotel retains all the old-world elegance of its counterpart, but with even flatter floors (a win for luggage and little feet!). We booked a queen room and an adjacent room with two double beds to accommodate myself, my husband, and our two kids. Pros: The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean, and thoughtfully arranged with a cozy armchair and a writing desk. The two-double-bed room even featured a small bar area—a nice touch for relaxing after a day of exploring! 🛋️📝 Our rooms were ready ahead of the official check-in time, allowing us to settle in early and start our vacation without delay. The reception staff were warm and welcoming, and they shared details about the complimentary continental breakfast served from 7-10 AM (tea, coffee, oatmeal, yogurt, pastries, and fruit) as well as free wine and cheese from 4:30-6 PM—such lovely perks! 🥐🍷 The hotel is just a few blocks from Union Square, making it incredibly convenient for shopping and sightseeing. Several restaurants are located nearby, with even more options within a short walking distance. Prices in the area felt reasonable for San Francisco. The photos on the website accurately reflected the rooms during our stay—no surprises! Cons: While the location is central, you should stay aware of your surroundings due to the presence of homeless individuals in the area. That said, we didn’t experience any issues during our visit. Overall, this hotel offered comfort, character, and fantastic value. We’d definitely stay here again!
