A Budget-Friendly, Classy Bookstore in New York SoHo π
π On a drizzly afternoon, while strolling through SoHo in New York, I stumbled upon an old bookstore. Nestled in a typical SoHo classical building, the warm light spilling through the doors and windows looked especially charming in the gloomy rain. π Stepping inside, I discovered it was a budget bookstore, with books priced at just a dollar or two. Yet, the decor was far from the usual casual or shabby look of second-hand stores. Instead, it exuded an air of classical elegance. Two exquisite wooden spiral staircases wound their way up to the second-floor gallery, where affordable second-hand clothing was sold. π The store was spacious, and at the back was a cozy cafΓ©. Sitting here, sipping a hot coffee, and randomly pulling a book from the wall of shelves to read was the perfect way to while away a winter afternoon. π The bookstoreβs inventory is almost entirely donated, and its operations are supported by volunteers. As a result, 100% of the profits go to fund the services provided by Housing Works, which offers affordable housing. π Housing Works Bookstore #NewYork #Bookstore #SecondHandBooks #VintageBookstore
