A Chilly Half-Day in Milwaukee 🌫️🚶♀️
Weekend plans took me near Milwaukee, so I decided to explore for a few hours—sun turned to clouds, then gloom, and I ended up walking 10,000+ steps while getting progressively colder. My biggest takeaway? This city feels empty! 🌉 Observations: Aside from a few pockets in downtown, the streets, riverwalk, and parks were eerily quiet—even with fancy apartments looming overhead. The McKinley Park → Government Pier trail (1 mile!) had just 2 people + 1 dog on a Saturday in April. Where is everyone?! 🍽️ Lunch at St. Paul Fish Company: Ordered way too much (planned to take leftovers!), but the meal was just okay: Lobster Roll 🦞: Lobster was fresh, but the bun wasn’t buttery like GT Fish & Oyster (RIP my favorite 😭). Clam Chowder 🥣: Watery—glad I got a small cup. Fried Walleye 🐟 (staff’s pick): Tasty fish, but overcooked. Bouillabaisse : Seafood + tomato broth isn’t my vibe, and it was too salty. Final Thoughts: Milwaukee, you’re mysteriously quiet—but I’ll be back to crack your code! Maybe next time with gloves. 🧤 #DayTrip #Milwaukee #QuietCity #SeafoodMixedReviews 🏙️❓
