A Cozy Fall Morning in NYC 🍂 | The Croissant with Soul

Woke up naturally on this first Saturday of November and headed out solo — skipping Halloween vibes for something warmer and flakier 😌 Wrapped in my thickest puffer, I made my way to Nick + Sons Bakery in Brooklyn, a spot that’s been quietly winning hearts. By 9:30 AM, the place was buzzing. Families post–trick-or-treating, stylish locals with their Salomons and Antwerp totes — and oh, the sound of French everywhere 🥖 I knew I was in the right place! The line moved fast, and watching the bakers work in the open kitchen made the wait feel like part of the experience. Why this place stands out: ❤️ The staff are genuinely kind and helpful — they’ll tell you what’s just out of the oven, what’s still warm, and I’ve even heard they’ll toss in an extra pastry if yours comes out small. Thoughtful service like this feels rare in NYC — first win. 🥐 The croissant? A thing of beauty. Golden, warm, and steaming as I tore it open. Crispy outside, soft and stretchy inside — buttery but not heavy. By the last bite, just a hint of richness, perfectly balanced with a shot of espresso. Easily a top 3 croissant in NYC — and fairly priced! Second win. I came for the za’atar croissant (sold out 😢), but the staff recommended the cinnamon roll — soft, not too sweet, though not as memorable as the croissant. Next time: cardamom bun and danish! And just when I thought the moment was complete — I turned to see the industrial interior framing McCarren Park’s fall colors 🍁 Then, the baker who’d waved at me earlier smiled and said, “Have a good day!” while sipping coffee outside. A small, perfect fall moment — third win. 📍 Nick + Sons Bakery 892 Lorimer St, Brooklyn, NY 11222 #NYCBakery #BrooklynEats #FallInNYC #CroissantLove #SimpleJoys
