A Day in São Paulo, Brazil: Food & Accommodation
🏨 Stay: 📍 Melia Paulista Located on the famous Paulista Avenue, this hotel features a swimming pool. The Brazilian footwear brand Melissa (a must-buy) is right downstairs. Transportation is convenient, and the rooms are clean. ⭐️ Activities (Follow This Order): 🚕 Uber in Brazil is cheap and reliable—perfect for getting around. ➡️ Paulista Avenue: The street is closed to traffic on Sundays. In summer, vendors and live performances abound. Since it’s winter now (Brazil’s seasons are opposite to ours), the avenue is mostly filled with joggers and dog walkers. I visited the 1000th McDonald’s location here. ➡️ Beco do Batman (Batman Alley): A network of alleys covered in graffiti. Mostly tourists here—great for photos and buying small souvenirs. ➡️ Mercado Municipal Paulistano: A large market selling everything: vegetables, fruits, cheeses, Brazilian nuts, and local snacks. Brazilian fruits are incredibly sweet, and many stalls offer free samples to try. 🍽️ Food: 🍱 Lunch - 📍 Kisetsu Sushi (Liberdade District): Using my limited Portuguese, I snagged a seat without waiting (probably because I was alone). Ordered a lot for just $26. 🍲 Dinner - 📍 Mani: Tired of barbecue, so I chose this upscale local restaurant. Their desserts are amazing! Prices are steep for locals but reasonable in USD #.Melia Paulista#São Paulo#Kisetsu Sushi#Paulistano#Beco do Batman#travel guide#food diary#brazil
