A Day Trip to Escape NYC π | Beacon, NY
Overwhelmed with Thanksgiving assignments and upcoming finals and presentations π So I decided to take a break with a nearby day trip β and Beacon was just the place! This small town turned out to be such a lovely escape. π‘ Highlights of the day: π¨ Dia:Beacon β an art museum that immediately reminded me of my alma mater, UAL (check P9 for the vibe!). Filled with fascinating works from artists like Andy Warhol and Tehching Hsieh, the space itself feels like a piece of art. ποΈ Strolling down Main Street β lined with quirky little shops and cafΓ©s. Didnβt expect to find a cat cafΓ© here β a purr-fect surprise! π±β π₯Ύ Hiking up Mount Beacon I rarely wear sneakers, but today called for them β and Iβm glad I did! The trail gets pretty steep, but along the way I found a heartwarming sight: hiking sticks left behind by previous hikers (see P2) β a true trail angel moment. π Made the climb feel less lonely and more like a shared journey. π Timing tip: I left NYC around 9 AM and was back by 6 PM β totally doable in a day. But β watch the sunset time closely! Donβt get caught on the trail after dark. β°οΈπ Even with a busy student schedule, sometimes a day away is all you need to recharge. Beacon gave me art, nature, small-town charm β and a much-needed breath of fresh air. π #NYC #BeaconNY #EscapeNYC #Hiking #WeekendWander #TravelDiaries #HikeTheWorld #ArtAndNature #DayTrip #StudentLife #MountBeacon
