A Day Trip to Kawagoe: Slow Time from Ikebukuro to Little Edo (2)🌸
3️⃣ Ichiban-gai This area preserves the kura-zukuri architecture from the Edo period. The quaint shops lining the street exude a retro charm. 🌿🌟 Every casual snap feels like a trip back in time, making it an ideal spot for photo ops! 📸 4️⃣ Taisho Roman Yume-ga-oka This street recreates the style of the Taisho era from last century. 🌿🌟 However, compared to Ichiban-gai, it's much quieter and lacks the springtime carp streamer spectacle, so there weren't many surprises. 5️⃣ Renjien & Kumano Shrine Renjien features a small, tranquil courtyard filled with Zen atmosphere. The autumn leaves there are in full color. 🌿🌟 At Kumano Shrine, there's the entertaining "Fortune-Telling Path." It's nerve-wracking when you insert a coin and draw lots, but it fills you with anticipation! 6️⃣ Kita-in Temple This historic temple is one of Kawagoe's most famous cultural heritages, with architectural relics from the Tokugawa Ieyasu era still intact. 🌿🌟 Unfortunately, by the time I reached Kita-in, it was near sunset. I quickly took a few courtyard photos before heading back, bathed in the evening glow. #Japan 🌿🌟
